It is the verification of a laboratory's technical competence to perform specific types of tests, providing the clients of these laboratories with confidence in the quality of the services offered. The center accredits testing and calibration laboratories according to the international standard ISO/IEC 17025, as well as accrediting medical laboratories according to the international standard ISO/IEC 15189. It provides accreditation to manufacturers of reference materials according to the international standard ISO 17034, accredits proficiency testing providers according to the international standard ISO/IEC 17043, and, finally, accredits biobanks according to the international standard ISO 20387.
