Hassaan Alwohaibi serves as the COO at the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC), where he joined in 2020. He currently leads four departments: Laboratory Accreditation, Inspection Bodies Accreditation, Certification Bodies Accreditation, and Technical Capacity Development. He has over 25 years of experience in various accreditation fields, including halal accreditation, quality infrastructure, and pharmaceutical regulations. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Early Life and Education:
Hassaan Alwohaibi was born in the United States in 1977. He received his general education in Riyadh and then attended King Saud University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. He continued his academic career by obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree from the same university. He participated in numerous professional programs and courses in leadership and management at a number of international academic institutions.
Experience
In 2001, Hassaan Alwohaibi started working as a pharmacist at the Riyadh Military Hospital. After that, in 2007, he joined the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), where he worked in a number of technical areas before taking on the role of Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs in the Drug Sector. He became Director General of Certification Bodies Accreditation at the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) in 2020, where he was in charge of the department's creation and new services. He was appointed COO in 2021 and is in charge of four departments: Laboratory Accreditation, Inspection Bodies Accreditation, Certification Bodies Accreditation and Technical Capacity Development.

Hassaan Alwohaibi has served on several national committees, including the National Bioethics Committee at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the Committee for the Localization of Medicines and Medical Devices at the Saudi Health Council, the Scientific Committee of the National Health Information Center, the Drug Registration Committee at SFDA, and the Supervisory Committee of the Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies (IFHAB). He serves on the Coordinating Council for Conformity Assessment Bodies of the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO), the Accreditation Council of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), and some committees for the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). |
He also represents the Center at meetings of the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers and other government entities, and he chairs the Center's Advisory Committee.
